Best Crafting Tools Websites

This website is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me:
http://pursepatterns.com/free_bag_patterns.html

It's like someone walking up to you and saying "Congratulations you just won a lifetime supply of Hershey Bars!". I can only imagine.

This is also a great website, I found this purse pattern at Wal-Mart for 0.97 and the website designer has it listed for $12.95. Good Lord! Anywho:

Revamping #1: Body Pillow to Dress Form

So here it is - my old body pillow I had lying around cause I got tired of it not matching anything in my room or life!! Anyways I'm going to turn the body pillow into a dress form (freehand). I can't afford one of those fancy, smang-dangled dress forms so I figured "just make your own". As for the parking meter piggy bank, it's going to be my stand. It was a gift from my grandmother, of course! I will let you know how it works out. Now that I'm feeling slightly better than yesterday it's time to get to work.

A True Classic

How come they don't make bags like this anymore? I think vintage handbags are so classy and upscale. Some of them were super cheap back then too. I mean if patterns were going for 5¢ and a bag of groceries came to $5 then I know these handbags were a steal too.

Inspired by Vintage

I'm totally making my own version of this handbag. It's cute, it's vintage, and it's Oh So Fab!!!

The Sofa

I feel absolutely terrible for our poor sofa. It's been the final resting place for fabrics, notions, and UFPs (Unfinished Fabric Projects). While being inspired by some Frankenstein projects and some Revamping ideas. I figured, "Hey, it's time to give this sofa back it's personal space." Do you see what I see?

Revamping Project #1

Ok so this pillow was an epic failure in my eyes. Not because of the way it's made but because my handheld sewing machine doesn't have two sources of threading. Just one, and because of this, the seam was coming undone. Anyway....I decided to make this bad boy my first revamping victim tonight, before heading off the Choir Workshop. Will let you know how it goes...or what I come up with.

Drawstring Handbags

More drawstring handbags coming soon. I'm putting the finishing touches and ribbon on them tonight. Can't wait to get to work on my other projects.

Audrey Hepburn Bag

It is such a joy when a fabric designer wants you to test their designs and sell them for profit. Here's the e-mail that started it all:

"Hey Miss Louisiana
Audrey Hepburn fabric arrived here today. I looked it over
and the color seems fine. The fabric is now for sale BUT I have a proposition for you.
I would like to send you the fabric i just received from Spoonflower
without charge. It makes sense to me to have someone who knows
how to sew, to sew this pattern and see how it works. I have other products i want to make and it would be really useful for me to get feedback from a real seamstress...nothing complicated mind you...
just tell me if it was a pain in the butt or confusing to make or not.
You'd be doing me a solid!
So many people on Spoonflower don't sew that i am trying to figure out ways to make things simple! It's ok if you say "no" and buy your own yardage but to my way of thinking, sending you the fabric is a win win.
So if you agree, just send me an address for mailing this out to you.
My real email address is fabric@chickoteria.com...sometimes this Spoonflower email seems complicated! Let me know
Only thing i would like is a photo/photos whenever you put the bag together!
cheers
Pat/Chickoteria"

OMGizzle! I just had to blog about this. I'm so excited and I can't wait to get the demo fabric in, but wait it gets better:

"LOL...i call it "enlightened self interest"...meaning this is a win/win for me.
Will mail the fabric to you tomorrow morning. Please don't feel rushed, i'm just happy you are willing to try this!! I also want to tell you, that you personally are completely free to use this pattern for any other finished work of your own...other bags, in other colors etc. and sell those finished bags anywhere you want in the world or in cyberspace. So make yourself a tracing/copy of the pattern for your files. I hoping to sell the pattern
so keep the pattern for yourself alone. Really glad you are willing...
if you have questions feel free to emall me...otherwise just email again
when you are ready to send photos!
Cheers
Pat/Chickoteria"

I don't think anyone has a clue to how hype I am about this project coming in the mail. I will continue to upload pics of projects I'm working on or Revamping.
